Every student at Ohio State will take General Education courses. Although these GE courses are meant to provide a broad baseline of learning, often times the courses supplement the student’s major or program. IMME majors must satisfy the GE requirements for the Bachelor of Science degree in the College of Arts and Sciences. The following advising guidelines will help students plan their GE courses to ensure timely progress toward completion of the major.
The following courses are required for all IMME majors, these courses can also be used to satisfy GE requirements:
- English 2367 satisfies the Second Writing requirement
- Econ 2001 Microeconomics and Econ 2002 Macroeconomics together satisfies the Social Science requirement
- Math 1151 Calculus I satisfies the Quantitative and Logical Skills - Mathematical and Logical Analysis requirement
- Math 1152 Calculus II partially satisfies the Open Option requirement
